Overview

Coaching became my second “calling” after I retired from a successful career as a physician and physician leader in several prominent academic medical centers.  Axiogenics provides an incredible tool to help my clients get right to the crux of habitual patterns of thinking and behavior that are holding them back from living their best lives and doing their best work.

As a department chair and a Senior VP, I managed multi-million-dollar portfolios and hired and supported physicians and other healthcare providers. I mentored, educated, and coached medical students, residents, fellows as well as young and more experienced faculty and other leaders.

The greatest joy of my professional life has always been seeing the people I work with grow and thrive. Therefore after nearly ten years as the Founding Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at a brand-new medical school, I embarked on my coaching journey. I now coach physicians, other healthcare providers, and leaders in medicine and education. I also coach leaders and contributors at all levels in the non-profit sector.

My outlook is easily summed up by one of my favorite quotations: “He who says it can’t be done should not interrupt the person doing it.” I believe in the intrinsic value of each individual, and I work with my clients so they can recognize and eliminate the obstacles and biases that are holding them back so that they can focus on consistently playing their “A” game. My clients know that I am optimistic, non-judgmental, and will support them in their quest to find their best ways of achieving their biggest dreams.

What I Love About Axiogenics Coaching:

I have seen a dramatic increase in my effectiveness as a coach since I started using the V/Q Profile and the Self-Leadership 1-2-3 Program. My clients are getting “unstuck” more quickly, and we are able to go deeper in our conversations more efficiently than ever before. Clients move more directly toward their goals and dreams, maximizing their assets and making their biases irrelevant. Of course, the real beauty is that they have a process that they can use forever, even after we are no longer working together.

What clients say about Alice’s coaching…

AH

Therapist and Coach

“Alice has been such an inspiration to me! She is insightful, empathetic, extremely knowledgeable, and has a delightful sense of humor! Her ability to enable me to draw upon my own inner strength, to come to my own conclusions, to do the necessary internal work so that I can be more effective externally, has been priceless…She has empowered me to discover and walk in those things that are already true of me; things that I had not seen about myself before. She encouraged me to step out of my ‘stuck’ places and into the life that I was truly meant to live.”

KH

Educational (K-12) Leadership

“One of my favorite characteristics of Alice is her experience in multiple industries and roles. This gives her tremendous perspective–and because she is sincerely curious about your experiences, she asks insightful questions that show her appreciation of diversity and of your own ideas. In an age when professionals need and want to recognize valuable competencies across situations, Alice will be a wonderful asset to your journey!”

SM

Community Case Manager

“Alice has been a great coach to work with one on one. She used her background in working in the medical and non-profit world to respond with empathy to the professional challenges I was talking through. She understood the impact of workplace transitions I was facing and helped me to see the factors that were within my control as well as understand the elements I could not control. As an external processor, it was incredibly helpful to have an empathic ear to listen and be a sounding board for my thoughts and emotions.”

VQ

Physician

“Alice is an excellent coach and has made a significant impact in my personal and professional life by redirecting and realizing my deep goals and priorities. During the coaching sessions, she asks thoughtful questions that help me to reflect clearly and deeply.”

VP and CMO Behavioral Health

My journey with the Axiogenics Self-Leadership Development Program has been an enlightening experience. Initially, I entered the program aspiring to achieve my goal of becoming a Chief Physician Executive. I realized I needed to attenuate a few personal traits, like my reserved nature, self-critical tendencies, and resistance to embracing diverse opinions and ideas. Supported by my coach, Alice Ackerman, I transitioned into a more communicative, delegative, and open-minded professional. This transformation allowed me to introspect my choices and actions more critically and act with deliberate intention. One aspect of the program that resonated with me the most was the incorporation of purposeful daily practices. These practices applied to every situation, reinforcing a foundation for consistent self-improvement.

To sum up my journey with the Axiogenics Self-Leadership Development Program, I can definitively say the experience is transformative, providing a comprehensive framework for personal development. This program is immensely beneficial for anyone looking to enhance their leadership skills and, more importantly, evolve as a better human being. The program uncovered the blind spots in my personal and professional life, allowing me to fully embrace and understand the nature of change. I cannot recommend this program enough to those seeking lifelong growth.
